Want to live in a world of travel convenience? Well, you can start by moving to Northeastern Pennsylvania. That's because almost anything worth seeing or doing, buying or selling, is just a car, train, or plane ride away!

The Penn's Northeast region is ideally situated for companies wishing to serve a densely populated portion of the country, from Maine to Virginia and west into Ohio.

The area enjoys easy access to six interstate highways and is, on average, just a two-hour drive from Manhattan and Philadelphia. Want to make truck deliveries to 93 million North American consumers? The good news is you're just an overnight drive away!

Another great piece of transportation news is the return of passenger rail service from Northeastern Pennsylvania to Metropolitan New York/New Jersey. If all goes as planned, by 2006 you'll be able to hop on board in Scranton or a number of stops in the Poconos, ride to Hoboken, NJ. and take the PATH train right into Manhattan. A multi-million dollar intermodal hub (a depot for trains, busses and taxis) will be built in downtown Scranton as part of the project.

Some travel benefits:
The following is a summary of just a few of the major travel benefits enjoyed by the residents of Northeastern Pennsylvania:

  •  More than 40,000 miles of highway with convenient access via I-80, I-81, I-78, I-476, I-380 and I-84.
  •  Average 2-hr. commute to New York City, Philadelphia, Syracuse, and Harrisburg.
  •  Direct flights to major cities via two major international airports:
    Lehigh Valley International Airport and
    Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport
  •  Access to more than 5,600 miles of railways, with Cargo rail service via Norfolk Southern, Canadian Pacific and several short lines.
  •  Numerous bus transportation providers throughout the area.
  •  Average 2-hr. ride to major ports and businesses located in Philadelphia and New York.

Oh - there's another benefit to working in the area. Average daily commutes are just 20 minutes… 20 stress-free minutes that is.

So, you see? No matter when, why or how you want to travel, living in Northeastern Pennsylvania means it's easy to go just about anywhere - anytime!
