Remember
when you were a child and you were confronted with so many
choices and opportunities that you became practically immobilized,
unable to make a decision or pick a course of action?
Fortunately, Northeastern Pennsylvania residents
are too busy being active to get caught up in such a quandary.
But still, if you look at all the things to do and see in
Northeastern Pennsylvania, well, it can seem a bit overwhelming!
And that's a good thing. Because no matter what
your interests
there is no way you're getting bored around
here. No way!
Are you a sports fan? Specifically, are you a
football fan? If so you'll enjoy the Berwick Area High School
Bulldogs. The "Dawgs" are the first six-time state

as three-time national champs by USA Today.
Professional fans can also enjoy Arena Football
II. The Wilkes-Barre/
Scranton Pioneers play their home games in the fabulous
Wachovia
Arena at Casey Plaza.
All the excitement of professional baseball can
be experienced with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
Red Barons. The Triple A minor league club of the Philadelphia

can test your mettle at the national class Steamtown
Marathon, a 26.2-mile USATF-certified marathon held in
Scranton every October or at the Wilkes-Barre
Triathlon held every August at Harvey's Lake.

From our state parks and game lands, lakes, ponds
and streams to our mountains and forests, natural beauty can
be found everywhere in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
This means our residents can hike, bike, camp,
hunt, boat, ski, sled, golf, skydive, skate, swim and play
without having to travel far to do it.
Our largest body of water is Lake Wallenpaupack,
measuring 13 1/2 miles long with 52 miles of shoreline. "The
Paupack" features hundreds of acres of forestlands, wildlife,
walking trails, campsites, and boat slips. When it comes to
boating and water activities, this popular body of water has
few equals.
For the cold weather enthusiasts, we have numerous
ski resorts, ponds for ice-skating and hills for tobogganing.
Every year, thousands of people flock to the
Montage Mountain Ski/Summer
Resort, which Snow Country Magazine consistently

the earth's surface and travel through three different veins
of coal in an actual mine. And there's more fun with history
to be had at Steamtown

of steam locomotives and related memorabilia. Managed by the
National Park Service, this $70 million complex features a
working roundhouse, museums, repair shops and steam locomotive
