Northeastern Pennsylvania -
Between April and June, economic development organization Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania approved $2.03 million in investments. The organization invests in startups, manufacturers and business incubators in a 21 county region.
The recent investments support six established manufacturers and 11 early-stage companies to expand their work forces, fostering innovative product development and create operational growth throughout the region. Pennsylvania Small Business Credit Initiative funds partially finance the projects.
Established manufacturers, incorporating student enrichment work with a college or university partner, were awarded $659,550 while early-stage companies were awarded $1.4 million.
Projects include:
Northampton County-based Oral Biolife is developing a piezo‑material‑based treatment shown to regenerate bone lost to periodontal disease.
Wayne County-based Redemption Business Solution offers retailers a cloud enterprise resource planning system.
Northampton County-based Spacecraft Automation is developing patented automated drive-thru and walk-up kiosks for convenience stores, dispensaries, pharmacies and other businesses to streamline item pickup and improve throughput, security, and customer satisfaction.
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development founded Ben Franklin Technology Partners as an initiative funded by the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority. Four independent nonprofit organizations in Bethlehem, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and State College comprise the statewide Ben Franklin Technology Partners network.
