Borton-Lawson's Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Christopher L. Borton, P.E., was one of two local leaders inducted into the Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania's (JA of NEPA) Business Hall of Fame.
Mr. Borton, along with John C. Metz, Sr. of Metz Culinary Management, were honored at the annual dinner and awards ceremony this week. Funds raised through the ceremony help the JA of NEPA continue to provide programs to students teaching work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
Mr. Borton established Borton Engineering Associates, Inc. in 1988 to provide general civil engineering services in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Under Mr. Borton's leadership, Borton-Lawson has grown into a nationally recognized engineering/architecture firm.
Mr. Borton has also generously given back to his community by serving on committees and boards for several organizations including the United Way, Wyoming Rotary Club, Penn State Wilke-Barre, the Holy Name/St. Mary's Church, and Misericordia University.
He plans to retire from his role effective July 2018.
