Gift wrap and greeting card dealer CSS Industries Inc. has closed a Kentucky production plant and consolidated work at its Berwick Offray LLC division in Berwick.
Closing the Maysville, Ky., Cleo Inc. tissue facility and other restructuring moves will save the company $3.3 million. Between 30 and 40 people worked at Cleo. Berwick Offray, which produces decorative ribbon, employs more than 500.
The restructuring is not expected to have an effect on CSS's Scranton-based greeting card division, Paper Magic Group Inc.
However, Robert Collins was named president of the Paper Magic unit, which markets seasonal products including greeting cards, Halloween costumes and egg coloring kits
