Scranton, PA -
The Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company (SLIBCO), the industrial development affiliate of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, announced the sale of a 14.57 acre lot in the Valley View Business Park to Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services. Mericle plans to construct a flex building between 120,000 - 160,000 square feet on the property.
The new flex building marks the third constructed by Mericle at a site developed by SLIBCO in Jessup, Pennsylvania (with a building in both the Valley View Business Park and the Jessup Small Business Center). This project will also be the 10th building the company has built in Lackawanna County.
“Because of its flexible design, the building will easily accommodate office, manufacturing, distribution, and medical companies and can be subdivided in increments of approximately 6,400 square feet,” said Mericle Vice President of Marketing Jim Cummings. “With each new tenant, the parks are gaining momentum. We hope to work with SLIBCO to construct a variety of additional flex and industrial buildings in the Valley View Business Park.”
SLIBCO and Mericle have partnered on successful projects in the past including the development of two flex buildings in the Keystone Industrial Park and a 62,000 square foot office building in the Glenmaura Corporate Center.
“This involves more than a simple land sale - rather, it is an example of private sector confidence in our local economy. The Scranton Chamber is pleased to announce this important investment by Mericle, which along with the continued support of Jessup Borough, Valley View School District and Lackawanna County, is adding another resource in our collective efforts to create good jobs for the people of our region,” said Robert F. Durkin, president of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce and executive vice president of SLIBCO.
