Olyphant, Lackawanna County, PA -
The Midvalley's booming warehousing industry is about to get bigger.
A developer hopes to break ground next year on a sprawling industrial park that could house up to 10 1-million-square-foot warehouses.
A developer hopes to break ground next year on what will become a sprawling industrial park, primarily located in Olyphant, between the Casey Highway and Marshwood Road. The Triboro Industrial Park is expected to house up to 10 1 million-square-foot warehouses, a hotel, a truck stop, an on-site fire department and potentially on-site police, Olyphant Borough Council Vice President Jerry Tully said.
The development along the Interstate 81 corridor is historic, said John Augustine, President and CEO of Penn's Northeast. The collective aims to promote new investments, jobs and business opportunities by promoting Northeast Pennsylvania.
The Lehigh Valley is getting close to capacity for warehousing, so Northeastern Pennsylvania is the natural progression for the industry, Augustine said.
