The Pocono Mountains Economic Development Corporation (PMEDC) recently launched a new video campaign to highlight businesses in northeastern Pennsylvania's Monroe County. The first video in the three part series features Vigon International. The East Stroudsburg based company is a worldwide leader in flavor and fragrance manufacturing. The three minute video includes commentary from Vigon International President Steve Somers as well as PMEDC Executive Director Chuck Leonard.
For over 10 years, Vigon International has operated in the Pocono Mountains and PMEDC has worked to help the company grow and succeed in northeastern Pennsylvania. The business has been able to grow from a small, ten person company to a larger entity with help from both The Pocono Mountains Economic Development Corporation and the local workforce.
PMEDC Marketing Director Michelle Bisbing stated the video shows what her organization does to help businesses succeed in Northeastern Pennsylvania. “We want our owners to know that our primary focus is to promote them and help them succeed, because that's really what it's all about,” she said.
Bisbing discussed the marketing effort as a great way to highlight businesses that thrive in Monroe County while also promoting northeastern Pennsylvania to other businesses. “It gives us the chance to show aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners that may have hit the wall in their present locations, that PMEDC can support them every step of the way,” Bisbing stated in an interview. “Whether that means facilitating infrastructure development, providing grants to fund job-creating construction, low-interest loans, and even working capital”
The video series was produced as part of PP&L's Blue Ribbon Grant program. The grant program has helped numerous northeastern Pennsylvania organizations extend their marketing efforts and develop new and innovative ideas. Pocono Mountains Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Chuck Leonard explained how helpful the grant is to the organization, explaining PMEDC also created a mobile site, virtual tours of properties and a trade show booth all thanks to the grant. “These projects would not have been possible without the PPL Blue Ribbon Marketing Program”
The video series will be the first set of videos to appear on the Monroe County organization's YouTube Channel, as well as featured on the PMEDC website. Two other videos, highlighting Megaphase in Stroudsburg and Monadnock Non-Wovens in Mt. Pocono are currently in production.
