Nanticoke, Luzerne County, PA -
Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) is taking bold steps to prepare the workforce of tomorrow, and Penn’s Northeast is proud to recognize one of our own leading the charge. Mike Narcavage—who also serves on the Penn’s Northeast Board of Directors—has been named LCCC’s new Director of Workforce Development and Career Education.
With extensive experience in industry partnerships and workforce training, Narcavage is poised to build stronger connections between education and employment across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
“Workforce development is economic development,” Narcavage says. “Employers consistently tell us they value LCCC graduates—not just for their technical skills, but for their professionalism, work ethic, and readiness to contribute on day one.”
Under his leadership, LCCC is expanding initiatives such as the new Career and Technology Academy, designed to serve high school students in career and technical education, and the upcoming Microcredential Academy, which will help adult learners and working professionals gain new skills for today’s evolving job market.
As LCCC President John Yudichak explains, “Community is in our name, community is in our mission, and community is exactly where we want to be invested.” That investment translates to preparing students for meaningful careers that strengthen families, uplift communities, and fuel regional economic growth.
From healthcare and manufacturing to skilled trades and emerging technologies, LCCC is positioning Northeastern Pennsylvania for long-term success—and Penn’s Northeast is excited to see Narcavage’s leadership drive even greater impact.
Please join us in congratulating Mike Narcavage on his new role at Luzerne County Community College as we continue working together to advance economic development and build a stronger future for NEPA.
