Versacold, a leader in refrigerated logistics services, has broken ground for a
340,600-square-foot, cold-storage facility in Covington Industrial Park, Lackawanna County. The $20 million plant is expected to be operational by August, 2006 and employ 200 people.
Versacold is one of Canada's leading suppliers of refrigerated services and North America's sixth largest supplier. Versacold currently operates 23 temperature-controlled facilities across Canada and two in the United States. Through the recent acquisition of P&O Logistics, Versacold will significantly enhance its customer base by gaining several strong customers, including Breyer's, Dannon, Grocery Outlet, Pilgrim's Pride, Smart & Final, Trader Joes, Wakefern and Wal-Mart.
